The caprese salad is sometimes used as a starter which can also be served as a main dish. Traditionally falls within the Neapolitan cuisine and the name of this dish comes fresh from the island of Capri.
It consists of tomato and buffalo mozzarella, cut into slices or, more rarely, in a sort of salad cubes, also seasoned with olive oil, salt and basil. If you wish, you can add oregano.
The Capri is a typical dish of the Mediterranean tradition, appreciated and very tasty it is particularly suitable during the summer as light and fresh food.
